Pawbooth finds photos of your dog on your iPhone and shows them as a wall of prints and widgets. This policy explains what happens with your data. The short version: your photos stay on your phone, unless you ask Studio to make a portrait.

Who we are

Your photo library stays on your phone

With your permission, Pawbooth reads your photo library and uses Apple's Vision framework on your device to find photos of your dog. This scan runs entirely on your iPhone. Your photos are not uploaded, and we never see your library.

What the app saves (your dog's name, breed and birthday, which photos you kept, favourites, pins, your chosen look and widget settings) is stored only on your device, including in the shared space the Pawbooth widgets read from.

Studio portraits

Studio is optional. Only when you ask for a portrait, and after you agree in the app, we send the following to create it:

the photo you chose, downscaled,
up to two of your favourite photos as reference, downscaled,
the chosen style and any note you typed.

These go to our server (hosted by Supabase) and on to our image generation provider, Kie.ai, which creates the portrait and returns it. We use this data only to make your portrait. We don't keep copies on our server, don't use it for advertising and don't sell it. Kie.ai stores uploaded files temporarily to process them, under its own terms. The finished portraits are saved on your device.

Subscriptions

Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. To check whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase history from Apple together with a random identifier that is not linked to your name or email.

What we don't do

No accounts and no sign-in.
No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics tools.
We don't sell or share your data for marketing.

Permissions

Photos is used to find your dog's photos and show them. Camera is only used if you take a new photo in Studio. You can change both at any time in iOS Settings → Pawbooth.

Deleting your data

In the app, open the You tab and tap Delete my data. This removes everything Pawbooth stored on your device. Deleting the app does the same. Your photo library itself is never changed. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

This website

pawbooth.app sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Like any web server, ours briefly keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) to keep the site running and secure.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. We process Studio data to provide the service you ask for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by not using Studio. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).

Children

Pawbooth is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
